eLearning Programmer

Work in a collaborative and creative environment creating engaging training software and multimedia.

mySmartSimulations®, Inc. creates interactive eLearning courses for some of the largest organizations in the world. As an eLearning Programmer, the right candidate will help design and develop rich interactive animations and simulations using Flash and Flash ActionScript. Candidates in this position will also have the opportunity to be involved in projects involving 3D gaming platforms, tactile simulation technology, mobile development, and other exciting technologies.

Previous experience with Flash and Flash ActionScript is a plus. We will also accept the right candidate without Flash experience, who has experience with other programming languages (to be trained in Flash ActionScript and other technologies).

A successful candidate must have the ability to work with minimal supervision, be flexible and able to jump between tasks, and be willing to learn new skills. This position has great potential for professional growth. Recent graduates are welcome!

Required Skills:

• Programming experience OR Computer Science related degree
• Attention to detail
• Good spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Good communication skills are a must!

Experience with some or the following is a plus:

• Experience with basic design concepts

3D Generalist

mySmartSimulations®, Inc., a Saratoga Springs, New York based simulation training and educational firm, is seeking a full-time artist with 3D modeling skills to join our development team.

This is a full-time, salaried position with a generous benefits package.

Required Skills:
Proficiency in a leading 3D modeling software package, preferably 3D Studio Max, is required. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop® and Illustrator® is required. A solid understanding of Adobe Flash® and After Effects® is a plus. Knowledge of other media applications is recommended. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and willingness to work under art program specifications in a production environment is a must. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign® and 3D animation software is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Poly modeling hard surface and organic
• UV mapping and texturing (from photos and from scratch)
• Realistic and stylized rendering using Mental Ray® or Scanline)
• Basic knowledge of animation (non character based)
• Low poly modeling
• *Basic knowledge of Unity 3D® is a plus

Responsibilities:
Illustrator will join mSS teams in the development of a variety of interactive medical animation and training programs to create unique, accurate, and high quality medical and scientific content. Illustrator will work on multiple projects at one time and will be responsible for managing his/her production schedule with the development director. Some work will require content development, reading of text manuscript, and reworking media and art for new and better presentations. Artists will be involved in producing medical and other artwork for use in a variety of eLearning platforms.
