Application of Henry's Law to Breath Analysis
- Henry's Law
- When the water solution of a somewhat volatile chemical compound is brought into equilibrium with air, there is a fixed ratio between the concentration of the compound in air and its concentration in water, and this ratio is constant for a given temperature. As the temperature rises the ratio in the air increases.
Note: This is the key to how the breath analysis instrument works.
Move the gauge to see how the molecules react at different temperatures.
