Parts of the Computer

When learning about computers you will often hear the terminology input/output or I/O.

Input is any device that you plug into a computer in the appropriate spot which enables it to feed data into a computer. Some examples of input devices are:

keyboard
mouse (touchpad on a laptop)
scanner

Output is the opposite in that data is sent out of the computer. For example, a computer sends information to a printer and the printer prints the page requested. Examples of other output devices are:

monitor
speakers
